Title: Regional Manager

Role: Corporate & Business Development

Dates: December 2016 - December 2017

Project Description

PROJECT SUMMARY

I had met the president of HDL through my development activities with Kier & Wright. I had been asked by him to perform consulting services for the development Hope Ranch. Through our engagement he wanted me to perform similar consulting and planning services for HDL.

Up to this point the President had been a one man show in charge of account managers, controlling, and corporate development. The company grew to a point where the president was no longer was able to adequately control the operations of the company, and he recognized that he had to create a new regional management position.

I was engaged to assist in the creation of the regional manager position, which was primarily responsible for controlling and monitoring, account manager supervision, and account improvement. I wore two hats in the company, the first was an operational role managing the region during me tenure. The second was to develop the position and the tools needed to manage at a regional level.

MEASUREMENT AND CONTROLLING

We set up system measurement procedures to record key performance indicators (KPI) across the company. We then created a standardized reporting process across the company which compiled the KPI datum into actionable weekly and monthly reports. We then trained our account managers to respond to the KPI reports with actionable onsite training, and feedback mechanisms to improve contractor and employee performance.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

The controlling process then allowed us to develop the appropriate account and corporate business structures to correct the problems we were facing. I developed a corporate and account organizational business model, account level operating procedures, and job descriptions for account level managers and personnel.

OPERATIONAL EXECUTION

After the reporting and business structure was developed we then implemented the new business plan. This included hiring and/or training staff, instituting corporate oversight mechanisms, and standardizing client communications. Over the consecutive months I presided over ongoing system improvements, and controlling the business to ensure the company did not revert back to its previous state.
